Honouring Veterans and Healing Through Animal-Assisted Therapy: A Warriors of Hope Update

Updated: Nov 15

This weekend, I once again witnessed 82,000 rugby supporters at Twickenham listening and respecting our Fallen colleagues as the Last Post was being played, by a solitary bugler. #lestweforget

It is with enormous pride as CEO of SAVSIM CIC I can share the following messages received from the Veterans who recently attended our Warriors of Hope, animal assisted therapy program, in partnership with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), helping Veterans with PTSD.

The unique and bespoke program uses a variety of techniques, including animal therapy, therapeutic art, yoga, breathing techniques, journaling thoughts, and a little bit of physical labour, to form the two-week intense program.

Initial findings from the Veterans have been astonishing and I will share once the 3 month post interviews are completed.

These courses are free to the Veterans who attend, we pay for there accommodation, transport , food and the therapists, all we ask is for their time.

We raise funds throughout the year, be it sponsors of our events, attendees who join us on our clay or golf day, friends on treks and challenges and of course grants received, The Veterans' Foundation

Thank you !

-Joe Giordano, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder.
