As the Chairman of Support And Veterans of the Services through Social Inclusion and Mental Health Community Interest Company (SAVSIM CIC), I am thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to support veterans struggling with mental health issues and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

We have received confirmation from the Veterans Foundation of an awarded grant amounting to £9,750.00. This generous funding will be applied to deliver another "Warriors of Hope" course in 2024, specifically designed to combat mental health challenges and PTSD within the veteran community.

A Unique Approach to Healing

The "Warriors of Hope" program is unique in its approach to therapy and healing. We are proud to partner with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) for this venture. The course is divided into two segments: two days at the London Zoo and a week at Whipsnade Zoo.

Participants are engaged in animal-assisted therapy, therapeutic art, yoga, and breathing techniques. These activities are designed to help veterans manage their mental health issues, offering them hope, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Expanding Our Reach

Thanks to the Veterans Foundation grant and SAVSIM CIC's own fundraising efforts, we are excited to announce that we will be delivering two "Warriors of Hope" courses in 2024 - one in March and another in November.

This year, we were honoured to have Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer and Director of Veterans Affairs Jessie Owen attend our program in March. Looking ahead, I am pleased to announce that Surgeon General Major General Tim Hodgetts CB CBE KHS DL has kindly accepted our invitation to witness our program in 2024.

Get Involved

If you know of a veteran who could benefit from attending our course, we encourage you to get in touch with us. We are here to help and provide support to those who have given so much in service to their country.
