As CEO and Co-Founder of SAVSIM CIC, I am proud to share that our annual fundraising event, held last Thursday at Holland & Holland, raised more than £25,000.
These vital funds will help us continue our mission to support veterans transitioning into the field of wildlife crime prevention and anti-poaching, as well as expand our Warriors of Hope programmes. Delivered in partnership with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), these programmes provide veterans with mental health and PTSD support while connecting them to nature and purposeful work.
A day of generosity and shared purpose
We were honoured to welcome Patrick Conlon from the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), who spoke passionately about how our initiatives are making a measurable difference—not only to the veterans we support but also to London Zoo and its conservation efforts. His words underscored the profound benefits that time in nature brings to mental wellbeing.
Although Mitch Hutchcraft was unable to attend, we were delighted to hear from his partner, Nikki, who shared Mitch’s extraordinary story: the longest climb of Everest in history, spanning 240 days and 13,157 km, powered solely by human strength from England to Everest. Her talk was both moving and inspiring, reminding everyone of the resilience and determination that define our veteran community.
Our thanks to sponsors and supporters
Events like this would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors for the day: Reds10, Project One London, Fenwick Elliott LLP, and McAndrew Martin Ltd.
We are also immensely grateful to the following companies which joined us on the day, bringing 94 participants together in support of our cause: HLM Architects, Gleeds, Galliard Homes, OMISA Ltd, GSB | B Corp™, Keystone Law, John F Hunt Group, Marsh, Time+Tide Watches, Olympian, Savills, EFG Private Bank, InformFX, Dilitas Limited, and Mott MacDonald.
Special thanks go to Meg Hayes and David Rogers from the SAVSIM CIC team for their outstanding support throughout the event, and to the incredible team at Holland & Holland — Cianca Gayle, Samuel Morgan, and David McMenamin — for their professionalism and hospitality.
Continuing our journey
Thanks to your generosity, SAVSIM CIC can continue to change lives — helping veterans rebuild purpose and resilience through conservation and wildlife protection.
