As CEO and Co-Founder of SAVSIM CIC, supporting the veteran community remains a cornerstone of our mission. Whether through helping veterans manage mental health and PTSD via our Warriors of Hope programme in partnership with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), or enabling them to transition into careers in wildlife protection and anti-poaching, our goal is to help service leavers rediscover purpose through meaningful work.
That same principle, of recognising and harnessing transferable skills, applies far beyond conservation.
Veterans in construction and property
Recently, I had the privilege of contributing to TheVeteran.UK Magazine, discussing how the construction and property industries can benefit from engaging more closely with the veteran community.
As a Director of Project One London and Co-Owner of Redfinch Investments, I have seen first-hand the skills that veterans bring to the built environment. Their discipline, leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities make them invaluable assets to any team.
With an industry-wide skills shortage, it is vital to champion initiatives that encourage veteran recruitment and progression. That’s why it’s inspiring to see organisations such as Reds10, CBRE, Turner & Townsend, RICS, Skanska, Wates Group, Costain Group PLC, AECOM, The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and McAndrew Martin Ltd actively supporting this effort.

Joining TheVeteran.UK Advisory Board
I am equally honoured to announce my appointment to the Advisory Board of TheVeteran.UK Magazine, an organisation whose mission strongly aligns with our values at SAVSIM CIC.
The magazine’s key principles are:
Empowering service leavers and veterans
Promoting ex-military personnel throughout the civilian workplace
Championing veterans as a community support force across the Armed Forces family and wider UK society — a Veteran Force
I look forward to working alongside Mike Davis-Marks, Alan Spence, and my fellow Advisory Board members to continue promoting veteran talent across every sector—from conservation to construction.
Continuing the mission
At SAVSIM CIC, our focus remains on building opportunities that change lives. By creating pathways for veterans into fields such as wildlife protection, conservation, construction, and property, we not only strengthen communities but also unlock the leadership, resilience, and teamwork that define the veteran spirit.
Together, we can ensure that every veteran has the chance to serve again, this time, in protecting both people and the planet.
