Over the years, we have seen many veterans struggling with mental health issues as the nature of the job takes a toll on those who have so bravely served their country in the armed forces. As a result, Mental health, resilience and the ability of a veteran to endure adversity is something which I have the utmost respect for. Today, in my capacity as Chairman of SAVSIM CIC I have the honour to announce former Royal Marine Mitchell Hutchcraft and multiple world record breakers and former Gurkha / Special Boat Service Nims Purja MBE will be completing an epic fundraiser! This event will test not only mental resilience but the physical strength of all those involved and we wish them the best of luck!
What is the Mission? The fundraiser itself will break multiple world endurance records and involves a 34-kilometre swim across the English Channel, a 10,000km cycle ride to East India, a 900km trek to Nepal, a 350km trek to Mt Everest and finally to Climb Mt Everest with Nims. Funds raised from this epic adventure will help provide opportunities for more veterans to come onto our Warriors of Hope animal-assisted therapy courses and aid in our ability to engage with more veterans to help them transition into the prevention of wildlife crime and anti-poaching. If you would like to help Mitch on his epic adventure we are looking for key sponsors and donors who would like to engage and film to document this monumental feat of human endurance! Please do contact me if this is something you would like to be involved with. If you would like to know more about us, please visit us on our website www.savsim.org or follow us on Instagram @savsim_official
On behalf of the animals, we protect and the veterans we support.
Thanks
Joe
